Bulgaria
Mission Without Borders has worked in Bulgaria since the years of the Cold War. Working through partnership churches, we established various aid programs aimed at meeting the needs of some of Bulgaria’s most vulnerable people. In 1997, Mission Without Borders established its own office in the capital city of Sofia, employing only Bulgarian nationals.
Today Mission Without Borders continues to support poor families and individuals in need. In the four soup kitchens functioning under the Community Center program, 250 beneficiaries - mostly elderly and socially disadvantaged people - were being provided with their ‘daily bread’.
The need of people in the community to acquire computer skills as a prerequisite for jobs, motivated Mission Without Borders to initiate the vocational / educational project in 2006, offering a basic level of computer literacy.
We furthermore continue to support poor families providing deliveries of much-needed essentials to meet their urgent needs and promote self-sufficiency.
