Sick given care in Bosnia-Herzegovina

14/09/2012

Mission Without Borders provides health checks for unwell elderly and families in Sarajevo, Glamoc and Mostar.

health care BHMembers of families in MWB's family sponsorship programme, as well as elderly supported by our Community Centres, are receiving special health checks through a project called 'Church Care'. MWB is working alongside local churches in Sarajevo, Glamoc and Mostar to give free check-ups to poor elderly and families who cannot afford their own medical care. Most of the beneficiaries have bad health, including high blood pressure, high blood sugar level and thyroid problems.

This successful co-operation between MWB and local churches is providing early detection of serious health problems. It means that those mose in need are being referred for further advice or treatment.
