Summer camp for seniors, Albania

Never too late...for summer camp

We often associate summer camps solely with children, but this summer in Albania, we had a special camp in Durres by the seaside! The 60 people were from Berat where we run a soup kitchen. Elderly in Albania receive little support from State social services, which cannot cover their basic needs.

On this camp, the elderly campers stayed at a local hotel and took relaxing walks along the beach morning and evening. Also,our Albanian team provided support and input throughout the week and held morning devotions.

"For the first time in years, I feel I can breathe!" said Kadrie, a widow who has always had health issues with her lungs. She told us that they all love each other's company and she felt the presence of the Holy Spirit in every moment at camp. "I do not know how to thank you. The only thing I can do is pray for you and ask God to bless you as much as you have blessed us."
